Peg Tormey, Agent for Marberlane

Having grown up together in Staten Island, New York, Peg and Bert married and moved north of New York City to Westchester County, New York where they soon gathered the Kerry Blue handlers and breeders in the area at the time to slate what is now The Empire Kerry Blue Terrier Club. “The first elections were held in 1956.” [http://www.kerryblues.com/Empire/history.htm] Adding to their dog show enthusiasm, Peg and Bert, with other AKC dog breeders, formed the Putnam Kennel Club and the Taconic Hills Kennel Club to become very active committee members at AKC registered kennel club dog shows. Peg and Bert are Charter members of the Empire Kerry Blue Terrier Club, Putnam Kennel Club, and the Taconic Hills Kennel Club. Peg Tormey, Bert’s wonderful wife, Agent and Administrator for Marberlane was employed at Reader’s Digest for six years then later at IBM for eighteen. Traveling the dog show circuit with Bert, Peg and Bert had five children and numerous Kerry Blue Terrier litters.
